Hurricane Helene isn't scheduled to make direct landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region until Thursday night, but the tropical storm is already causing havoc. Recently upgraded to a category 2, Helene could get as big as category 3 and hit Florida with a 20-foot storm surge, and 115 mph winds. Even for seasoned Florida storm survivors, those are some serious numbers.

One man posted a photo revealing that Florida's infamously tough wildlife is still taking shelter. In the image, a large brown watersnake has slithered entirely up his window, and although harmless, that's a pretty large snake.
